White Elephant Griswald Christmas Party: Details and Directions @ 8:30

• Come dressed up in the style of the Giswold Christmas from National Lampoons Holiday classic, Christmas Vacation
• Bring one wrapped white elephant gift per person to exchange
  • A white elephant gift is any item that you do NOT purchase, and that you currently own/possess that you could give to someone else
  • It is often humorous in nature
  • “Wrapping” can be creative and resourceful
  • Ideas include, old CDs, dryer lint, expired coupons, tacky hat, used notebook, etc.
  • If, due to finals, you are in the mood to study and learn, (Get Info Here )
• As usual, there will be a fabulous prize for the best-dressed!

Twas the Night Before Christmas and All Thru The Church, Everything Flying was Made Out of Nerf Nerf Gun Battle

After we party together, we are going to shoot one another with nerf guns!

• Please bring your own nerf gun(s) and nerf bullets (NO other guns are welcome on the premises)
• We will turn the lights out, so you may want to bring your own luminary device
• You will get shot, so you may want to bring your own protective eye gear
• Leave your small children at home, as “a battle” is not an appropriate environment for kids
• All Men AND Women are welcome to play. In particular, we will berate, taunt, jokingly mock, jeer, sneer, scorn, tease and gnash our teeth at ANY who do not participate in the nerf gun battle (and this will most certainly include women)
  • As a special note, our military now includes women. Therefore all historical precedent for NOT fighting as a woman has been removed. You wanted “equal rights”, so come get your equal rights. We’ll be serving them up on a platter for you tonight…in battle!

College adults, come hang out at the Fowler’s from 7–10pm next Monday, October 26. We’ll play games, watch a movie, talk…you know, hang out. We’ll have the coffee brewing and something sweet to fill your belly. Bring a friend and let us know you’re coming on the Plaza (so we’ll know for prep).

The Turn will be mixing it up on campus Sep 30th—THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT—as we address the winners of our Text Message Voting campaign. We asked and you responded. Now come join us as we explore the answers together.

Join The Turn for a great tailgate under the pines behind the student section of the stadium Saturday from 12-2pm. Bring $2 and some friends and enjoy some burgers, dogs, drinks, baggo and general gala. Then get painted up for the game and go cheer on our beloved Red Wolves!

Be a Leader in The Turn. Join us as we head to Knoxville for The Campus Initiative Conference hosted by one of the churches we’ve modeled our ministry after. They have been doing the same kind of church-based campus ministry for years at UT Knoxville and this will be an awesome opportunity to go see what God has done in their ministry and what we can learn from them. D.A. Carson and Randy Newman will be guest speakers at a conference for pastors, college ministry leaders, and students this December in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Campus Initiative Conference has a two-fold purpose: to equip leaders and students to proclaim the gospel on campus, and to encourage college students to be involved in a healthy local church. It will be held December 17–19 at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville.

Due to the pending weather, we’re going to cancel The Turn’s tailgate today. It is forecasted to rain just about the time we’d be setting up to tailgate, and we don’t have a big fancy tent to seek shelter under in case of rain. Rather than get our big grill stuck in the mud, and cook a bunch of food only to get rained on, we’ll just postpone our tailgate until the next home game, Sep 26! We’ll still be painting up though! We’ll be offering FREE tours of the big city of Jonesboro. We’ll show freshmen all the go-to hot spots, plus a few hidden gems of the city. Every freshmen who joins is GUARANTEED to WIN some GREAT prizes. Just make sure you’re wearing one of The TURN tattoos and you’re eligible. Tours will leave from the Arkansas Hall parking lot and the lot behind Kays & University dorms every hour, from 10am–2pm.
