Join us at 8:30pm on the 3rd floor of the Union in the Spring Room as we discuss the two questions that you voted the most and unveil November’s Monthly Mixer topic. Bring a friend and come hang out with us as we “mix it up.”

College adults, come hang out at the Fowler’s from 7–10pm next Monday, October 26. We’ll play games, watch a movie, talk…you know, hang out. We’ll have the coffee brewing and something sweet to fill your belly. Bring a friend and let us know you’re coming on the Plaza (so we’ll know for prep).

Alas, the pandemic H1N1 increasingly subdues mankind under its spell, wooing even the healthiest of young adults (ones with “Empowered Minds” I might add) across the prestigious campus of ASU. We all know it’s there, waiting to proposition us like a lady of the evening in the “bad” side of town. Ignorance is not to blame. Our misfortune is due in no part to a lack of information. Even so, denial is not our friend and mocks us so with every hand sanitizer, warning sign, CDC (Center of Disease Control) alert, or Federal Ad Counsel advertisement campaign. As sure as the smell of bacon means pork in the frying pan, the succumbing of our suite-mate to the H1N1 means our own doom. And yet, how does this Flu of the Swine persist to work its magic still and again on our very suspecting souls?

Actually, the grave danger of our own Religion is quite similar. Fancy that. At our last Turn gathering we looked at the first Slippery Slope of Religion that makes it so dangerous. Tonight, we continue with Slippery Slope #2.

This dangerous slippery slope of religion does great harm to ourselves and others. It is so subtle—and at the very same time—so prevalent, that it makes the Swine Flu pandemic look like Kuru (Kuru is an extremely rare disease, but don’t worry, you’re not at risk. This disease is found in a certain tribe from New Guinea. It used to be a very common disease for the people of New Guinea, but today it is considered very rare there, and non-existent in other places.).
