The Turn

Fellowship’s Men’s Retreat is back on! That’s right, real men don’t always charge ahead. Sometimes they RETREAT!

Our retreat is now rescheduled for March 13-14th at Timber Ridge Lodge. Robby Fowler and Chuck Gschwend will be speaking on the topic of how a man can lead himself and/or his family into an on-going process of spiritual renewal. This gospel-based process will prove to be very simple, practical and profound. Join us for a great weekend.

Cost is $25.00 college guys. A caravan will be leaving the church at 5:05 on the 13th if you need a ride. In addition, we may organize a group that leaves earlier that afternoon around 2:30–3pm.

Don’t go down without a fight. Like all of us, your prom was a dismal failure. Sure you had high hopes. After all, this was your night for the taking. That dress, that tux, it was PERFECT! You even put that pine tree air freshner in your car the day before.

• Reservations at the finest restuarant…check.
• 8 month old MacDonald’s french fries cleaned up under passenger seat so as not to cause an accidental grease stain on your date’s killer outfit…check.
• 2 weeks of intense facial scrubbing, careful dieting, and pimple cream to stop any untimely zits in their tracks…check.

So where did it all go wrong? That’s the mystery of life.

The Turn would like to present you with a second chance! A new lease on life. You’ve gotten one under your belt. You learned a few things (the hard way). You’re older, wiser, more mature. You’ve got perspective on this whole thing so as to keep it in its proper place. And all you need is another shot. Well, good news…The Turn’s Re:prom is your answer baby! We’ve got the DJ, a disco ball, the concrete gym floor, the punch bowl, and folding chairs outlining the dance area so guys and girls can sit awkwardly across from one another and pretend not to stare.

The Turn Goes Bowling

Dig out those quarters. Wash that one pair of socks that do not have holes in them. And join The Turn for a night of quarter ($0.25) bowling at Jonesboro Bowling & Recreation. We’ll meet at the bowling alley at 8:30 (the normal time for The Turn gathering) on Wednesday, March 4th. We’ll bowl and find out whose got game and who’s lame. If need a ride or more info, contact one of our handy inTurns.

This is the perfect night to bring a friend, roomate, study buddy, or total stranger who lives across the hall in the dorm. We’ll see you there!

Just an update to let all the guys know we’ll be meeting for our ESL study at the Pavilion on campus at 4:30pm today.

We’ve had a great time getting to know many International students and we’re excited to announce our ESL (English as a Second Language) “Christianity Explored” study groups are beginning. These study groups will give our International friends a great opportunity to continue learning English while exploring Christianity.
